This topic makes iron and steel company’s sintering main exhaust fan as researchobject, and develops a system which can monitor equipment operating conditions. Thesystem has many useful functions, such as the rotating machinery operatingcondition’s monitoring, the real-time display of signal curve, the long-term datastorage, the network communications, the alarm system and the fault diagnosis,etc.The system can identify sintering main exhaust fan’s abnormal symptoms in order tomake sure the equipment’s operation safely and reliably, and provides basis forworking out an equipment maintenance plan and unification management.This paper makes a thorough study about Iron and steel company’s sinteringmain exhaust fan unit’s structure and its fault mechanism,and expounds the failure’ssymptom,specific reasons and management measures. Finally this topic designs animplement scheme for the system. We have studied eight kinds of equipment faults,such as the rotor unbalance, rotor misalignment, bearing fault, etc.The main task of this subject is to design the hardware circuit and virtualinstrument software of Iron and steel company’s sintering main exhauster onlinemonitoring system. Hardware circuit part includes the sensors, sampling signalpretreatment circuit and data acquisition card, etc. Virtual instrument software partadopts Visual Basic software design, including sampling module, function interface,trend curve plotting, data storage module, data query module, data analysis module,and network communication module, etc.Through a lot of experiments and running test, it shows that the monitoringsystem has achieved the expected goal. Its measurement precision and stability isgood and the fault diagnosis result is ideal. Steel company’s main exhaust fan’s onlinemonitoring system has important significance for developing equipment maintenanceplan and saving maintenance cost.
