The assessment policy of publication industry has been changed in recent years, it encouraged and facilitated the foreign capital, private capital and other capital in the development of the publishing industry. The publisher in China is divided into state-owned publishing enterprises and private publishing enterprises. Compared with the state-owned publishing enterprises, the private ones have the advantages of organization simplification, high working efficiency, cost management. In order to make the publishing firm in an invincible position in the fierce competition, we have to improve the publishing process and short the period. The schedule is based on past experience or a forecast to the future arrangement. However, in practical, various factors and the deviation cause by unforeseen affection is inevitable. Therefore, after a detailed, scientific plan, a real-time also project monitoring is necessary in the whole project management process. When the deviations happen, we need to take effective measures to make the project stick on to schedule and to avoid delays. The above process is so call schedule management. The working effective shall be increased if these theories could be the guidance, and meaningful to all publisher in the competitive market.This paper mainly focuses on the study of schedule control theory and its application in books publishing with the example of A+project optimization. Making plan is the first step, then, using a variety of methods in project schedule control and based on the established project schedule to control and management the books’ publishing. After that, compare the research results with the similar project without using the theory and method of control. Finally, the purpose of shortening the publishing cycle and improving the speed of publication could be achieved.
