The book “Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man” published in thewest in1964.The book has won a high position and caused a great sensation only ina few months time. And Marshall McLuhan, an unknown English literature teacher,turned into a giant communication immediately, from the guardian of the traditionalculture to a prophet of the modern communications. He created the words of"medium","global village","information age", etc. which has already become areality, and he also gave us a brand new perspective of observing media technologyitself. But by the limit of social conditions like age and technology, McLuhan’stheory began to have a lot of criticism and come to a low tide after the70s. In the1990s, however, as the new media, especially the network media has beenpopularized, many theories he put forward has been confirmed, which triggered aworldwide second wave of his theory’s research. At present, is not only the Internet,the emergence and popularization of multimedia terminal makes his theory has anew discuss value."Black mirror" is a mini series British drama produced by the BBC, until nowonly the first season, three sets have been on show, each on is only40minutes short,but each set is a separate story, with the special black humor focused on the changewhich emerging technology brings to the people and the society, deeply introspecton the new media age and the negative impact of science and technology bring topeople’s life and the dark side of human nature. Although it is a TV show, but itscontent directly point to today’s reality, which we live in a world surrounded byWeb3.0technology and new media, full of all kinds of high technical equipment. Weextremely depend on network, mobile phone, always inseparable from the searchengine, drowning in the spread of various pieces of information and all kinds of its by-products. Although long distance communication has become more efficientbecause the emerging media technologies, but the face-to-face communicationbetween people has been hugely reduced, we turned to social networks, it caused thealienation of science and technology, which makes human life values complicated.McLuhan proposed many media theory, the most well known ones are the"Theory of media cold and hot"," Medium is the message "and" Media is theextension of the human body"."Black mirror" expressed the theory "medium is thehuman body" incisively and vividly. In the modern society which media in peoplelife all-pervasive, media is not only the extension of the human body, but is almostto the point of the capture. As a result, the author based on the reality which the"black mirror" reflects, focuses on the theory of "media is the extension of", andexplains the new extension and expansion of the theory.
