With the rapid development of information technology, Radar technology continues to advance, and the application are more widely, from weather forecast to resource detecting, from celestial bodies study to early warning of military, from aviation navigation to vessel navigation, radar technology are playing an important role.we can complete target detection, identification, location and so on through to the radar echo signal process. As a result, the realization of the radar signal acquisition, processing, transmission and display have a relationship with in radar application value the field of national defense and civil.Combining with telecom SDH (Synchronous Digitaj Hierarchy) transmission technology, this article put forward the radar real-time signal transmission reseach subject based on SDH transport mechanism. Hope is that with the aid of high efficiency of SDH transmission efficiency, powerful network management capabilities and reliable self-healing ability to increase the convenience of the radar signal transmission, and the application prospect of indirect enhancing radar. The main content of research includes two parts:signal compression and signal transmission.Face two parts of the system, this paper adopted the corresponding processing method:in the part of the radar video signal compression, this paper takes SDZ605as hardware platform, using the integration of acquisition circuit, separate the video signal, again on the video image compression., considering the characteristics of the radar video signal has a strong correlation between frame and frame, so at the time of image compression coding method based on wavelet transform is adopted. In radar signal transmission system, including the raw echo signals, radar front-end work status, control of the radar signals and voice signals, cascade of SDH technology, application to STM1(STM-Synchronous Transfer Moduje).According to the research content, the design has realized the radar technology with SDH technology, has realized the transmission of radar signal based on SDH.
