With the rapid development of Embeded technology, Electronic and Information technology, Wireless network transmission technology and Multimedia technology, the embedded wireless video surveillance has become the trend of development in the field of video surveillance. The market is developped towards the direction of integrated, networked, digital and real-time, and the home video surveillance has demanded more and more highly in the collection and transmission.The specific content includes:overall design, the hardware, the software design and analysis of the video surveillance system. In the hardware design, we give the specific programs of the video capture module and the home gateway module; in the software design, we mainly proceed from video capture and video transimission design, and finally get the test results.After adequate research on the situation and development of the video surveillance system, the paper draws the overall research program of the home surveillance system based on the ARM11. This paper designs the wireless video transmission system based on the ARM11core S3C6410microprocessor, and achieves effective monitoring of each room by remote control home gateway based on the Linux operating system platform. The paper mainly study the relevant theoretical knowledge and feasibility of design and implementation of embedded wireless video transmission system based on ARM11core S3C6410microprocessor, and draw a solution of the home surveillance system based the feasibility.The system which selects the S3C6410as the processor, the CMOS camera OV9650as the collection, on the self-designed hardware platform to build Linux software system, uses the data structure and application function within the V4L2in the system to complete the acquisition. In the transmission aspect, we use the WIFI-ADHOC mode to establish a connection between the collection terminal and the home gateway by TCP/IP protocol, then successful collect the dispersed video information by home gateway.The system last allows the user to browse the video through host computer or MMS, and fully take into account the versatility of the system in the process of the design so that it is easy to achieve the secondary development based different application and demand.
