Rapid development makes embedded systems gradually begin to replace theoriginal industral computer in several application fields. Compared to traditionalindustrial computer, embedded electronic products have characteristics such as lowpower consumption, small size, lower cost, etc. And with the rapid development ofhardware technology, the processing speed has been gradually close to or even morethan some of the traditional industrial computer level. Android-based embeddedelectronic products in the field of human-computer interaction interface have betteraffinity and adaptivity. System itself support a variety of protocols of the Internetmakes the product adapt to a variety of network communication tasks. Applicationswritten by Java are versatile, powerful, with shorter development cycles, and providesufficient conditions for the research and development of video information terminalsdescribed in this paper.The paper combined residential video information terminal as applicationbackground, mainly provide schemes of information bulletin, information collection,and video communication in the cells, striving to achieve a convenient, fast andeffective feature. Use Android-based Tablet PC as a display and input device,according to the needs of a provincial key project, describes the overall architecture ofa residential video broadcast software systems. Analysis of some efficient Java codingknowledge is added to implement the system and some codec algorithm is given.According to the project specific requirements, the paper gives specific programs toachieve the desired function. In text transportation section, using UDP broadcastsmethod in Android to transport news and display messages, and also a brief use ofAndroid SQLite database that implements storage of historical information andqueries; in file broadcasting section, after the analysis of traditional transport protocol,a method which takes the initiative to request the file based on the FTP protocolbroadcast is put forward; in audio transmission section, it introduces the transplantaudio codec library under Java environment; in video communication section,it introduces the configuration of the hard-coded method to get video information andaccess to the video frame packaged with UDP-based protocol for networktransmission. Analysis of the package packing principles and problems which mightencounter during the implementation is proposed. Finally, a main application interfacecombines the content of the above aspects and forms application software withcombination of all of the above features.A complete set of video broadcast system is designed according to the solutionproposed in the paper, including the two parts of softw: the Tablet PC’s videobroadcast software and the host computer server’s management software. A softwaretest on several Android-based Tablet PCs is given, which turns out to have good effect.It verifies the feasibility of the system. At the end of the paper, the improvement andfollow-up study of the system is proposed for the following researchers.
