With the rapid development of the vehicle electronic system, the function of thesystem becomes more and more complicated, which brings more data to the system.Thus the data management of vehicle turns to be a new reseach orientation.Firstly, this thesis analyzed the related technology of current vehicle electronicdata management. In the vehicle electronic system, at the same time of providingmanagement, the data management had to keep real-time as well as reliability andconsistency of the data.The tradition vehicle electronic data management is based on application.However, this mode cannot satisfy the requirements of the vehicle electronic systembecause as the growth of data scale, other problems such as the consistency of datacannot guarantee, the data storage medium is unstable, the update and maitain ofsystem become more difficult, and etc. came out. Thus this thesis raised the vehicleelectronic data management based on database upon these problems.The vehicle electronic data management based on database had improved thestructure of ECU via seperating the data management from application, and adding itinto the operating system layer and appliacation layer. The data management layerintegrated the function of data transaction mannagement, concurrent control andreal-time mechanism, data indexing and maintaining, and etc. as well as providingunified data access port for the application. Contrasted with the one based onapplication, the vehicle electronic data management based on database could reducethe complexity of system developing and maintaining greatly. The advantage wouldbe more and more obvious as the growth of the vehicle data scale.On the fundation of the information maentioned above, the thesis developed ademonstration system of vehicle instrument panel based on embedded databaseBerkeley DB. The system was divided into the part of application and the part ofdatabase, while the former part was based on embedded database Berkeley DB whichrealized the function of data access, task scheduling, concurrency control and datamaintaining and ect. thus guaranteed the real-time, consistency, reliability andeasily-maintaining needed by the vehicle electrolic system, and could finish the datamanagement of instrument panel system.
