Into the90’s, the situation of China’s postal industry is not satisfactory, to faceserious challenges, the postal service information is imperative. Post to meet thechallenges of accelerating development to meet the diverse needs of the community,to participate in market competition with their own strength. In the information age,the postal service to expand market share, to get postal network scale, we must buildthe postal integrated computer network, this is the21st Century postal survival anddevelopment of vital infrastructure, the China Post cross-century development ofgreat importance. The superiority of the design is SDH-based network of the Postal city.Firstly, thispaper briefly describes the status of postal city network, network structure, businesssituation and the problems faced, given the purpose of this study design andsignificance; followed analyzed and discussed SDH technology background, features, frame structure, multiplexing steps and transmission performance. Then, on the basis of Postal business, bandwidth allocation, line and equipmentdetailed analysis, formulate the goal of building the system, scope and overallimplementation strategy. Based on the analysis of demand gives the overall systemdesign, including network structure, aggregation model, redundancy, load balancing, route planning, route learning, in which the network structure from the original"Province-City-County-branch" four structure was changed to "Province-City-branch" three-tier structure, while the abolition of the county central room togetherwith the city center model is consistent with commercial bank outlets and the flattrend of concentration is conducive to a unified business management and centralizeddata, and reduce the county central room of the huge investment of human and wit;load balancing limited resources for the postal network for the city is equallyimportant, because a wide range of postal services, in particular the sign in, shiftchanges, sign-off the peak of the network has made some very high requirements, thedesign of packet-based approach to automatically load routing to optimize networkthroughout the city. Finally, the whole design implementation, parallel testing and stress testing, given the feasibility. In conclusion, the main functions of this system can be realizedsuccessfully in our study and the targets anticipated have been achieved satisfactorily.
