The backbone of the services providers of telecommunication network is the core network of the whole services providers. However, the network management system based on SNMP in the current system has many shortcomings such as it needs much bandwidth in the target network and it is hard to locate the fault and so on. So the network management system based on SNMP can not manage the backbone efficiently, meanwhile it also reduces the performance of backbone. A current solution is to adopt router management system based on routing protocol to manage the backbone. So this thesis designs and implements a network management system based on OSPF to solve the existing problems in the router management system. This thesis firstly introduces the whole design scheme of the system, and then describes the design of the topology collector module, topology server module and client module in detail.Secondly, after studying and analyzing the basic mechanism of the OSPF in detail, this thesis defines a fault management model based on OSPF. It expounds the topology status factors which affect the network fault, and gives the definitions of the network fault and network events by analyzing the scenario where the fault takes place. Then it describes the relationships between the network topology events and the network fault. At last, it introduces some key technologies as follows: the optimization of the source of OSPF protocol, network topology management and fault diagnosis expert system. In the topology management module, this thesis puts forward a transform algorithm for network topology based on OSPF according to the default management model.Router management system based on routing protocol is a hot topic in the research area of telecommunication backbone network currently. The research in this thesis will be...
