With the widely-extend Internet and swarming information, router have been used widely. Its security problems have been paid more and more attention by many enterprises and individuals. The protection of router’s security also requires a network administrator to take appropriate safety precautions when configure and manage the router.With the practical use, this paper studies the router’s security and the key technology of AAA(Authentication, Authorization and Accounting) server. It presents the solutions to improve the router’s security by AAA authentication which has been implemented in IDC room of Zhengzhou Unicom.To compensate for the access control of routers, AAA network architecture has been introduced to improve the router’s security. ACS server is added to separate the user’s databases and routers. It uses TACACS+protocol to encrypt the authentication information between the router and ACS server. It implements AAA authentication system on the core network equipment.With AAA network security architecture using, Servers and routers between the client and use a good encryption,ACS server can easily manage users and network equipments through a standard browser and AAA network security architecture become the popular industry standard of network access control. Because it resolves security issues of the core network equipment, enhances the router access security and the work efficiency.
