Study And Application On The Safe Authentication Of Network Core Equipment

With the widely-extend Internet and swarming information, router have been used widely. Its security problems have been paid more and more attention by many enterprises and individuals. The protection of router's security also requires a network administrator to take appropriate safety precautions when configure and manage the router.With the practical use, this paper studies the router's security and the key technology of AAA(Authentication, Authorization and Accounting) server. It presents the solutions to improve the router's security by AAA authentication which has been implemented in IDC room of Zhengzhou Unicom.To make up for lack of router access control, AAA network architecture has been introduced to improve the router's security. ACS server is added to separate the user database and router. It uses TACACS+ protocol to encrypt the authentication information between the router and ACS server. It implements AAA authentication system on the core network equipment.ACS server can easily manage users and network equipment through a standard browser and AAA network security architecture has now become the popular industry standard of network access control. Because it resolves security issues of the core network equipment, enhances the router access security and the work efficiency.
