The Generation Research Of Contemporary China Public Domain Network

Western scholars first mentioned the concept of public domain and made it a independent academic discourse when they researched western social history. Public domain is also a kind of universal values regardless of its historical context. With the development of human society, network technology has been widely used and generates the internet public domain which can reflect the social reality. As the policy of reform and opening up improving Chinese economy and society, especially the acceleration of information process, internet public domain gradually grows and plays an increasing important role in China.Based on Habermas’theory of the public domain, this article researches the emergence of internet public domain in the context of China to get a better understanding of Chinese public internet domain. It can also provide references to establish a functional public domain which is compatible with Chinese situation. In this paper, the main contents are mainly the following four partFirst of all, this article studies the concept of public domain, analyzes the features, elements as well as historical evolution of public domain, and researches the position and influence of Habermas’s theory in a multi-dimensional way. Then combing the background of information age and the theory of public domain, this article gives a detailed analysis of the emergence, definition, features and functions of the internet public domain. It shows that in such an information age, the internet public domain age has come.Secondly, this article proposes that internet public domain has in fact come into being and begun to function. This point is based on our common sense and some examples of hot issues and internet public opinons that influence the public decision-making. Then combined with Habermas’theory of the public domain, this article makes a specific explanation of the background, the emergence process and main occurrence of Chinese internet public domain. Also, this article makes an empirical analysis of effect of internet public domain in China based on the case of little Yueyue.Thirdly, this article analyzes in detail the core question why internet public domain emerges in china from the corner of politics, economy, society and technology. There is no possibility for public domain to appear in old China because of history and social institution. But with the reform and opening policy bringing our life fundamental changes and modernization, globalization and information’s influence, the social conditions including political and economic aspects are gradually met. The mature internet technology further guarantees the internet public domain.
