With the development of the network technology, Internet users are getting better access. But we need a high-performance and reliable vehicle to deliver specific content, such as static Web pages, transactionbased Web sites, streaming media, or even real-time video or audio for the appearance of bandwidth-intensive. To advance the user access speed, a resolvent named CDN (Content Delivery Networks) is developed, which is an intermediate layer of infrastructure that helps to efficiently deliver the ever increasing content from content providers to alarge community of geographically distributed clients.CDN is the current solution scheme to advance the user access speed and guarantee the network security.Though the mechanisms and physical equipment used may vary depending on the content, CDN have three common building blocks in addition to the network infrastructure: Content Management, Content Routing, and Content switching. Content Routing is the main topic of this paper. A layered overlay networks for Large-Scale CDN is proposed, and based on this overlay networks, we developed corresponding Hierarchical load balancing and Hierarchical Content routing. This thesis is constructed as follows:Chapter 1 introduces the concept of CDN, and presents the main current technology of conten routing.Chapter 2, After analyse the structure of Internte, A layered overlay networks for Large-Scale CDN is proposed, and based on this overlay networks, we developed corresponding Hierarchical load balancing and Hierarchical Content routing antilogy.Chapter 3 presents the architectures of local content routing, classifies and describes main current routing mechanisms and dispatching request algorithms to split the load among the server nodes, and analyses their performance character qualitatively.Chapter4 explicate Hierarchical content routing, Intra-cluster Content Routing and Inter-cluster Content Routing, and then compares their performance with common Global Content Routing using qualitative analysis.Chapter 5 concludes this paper and prospects the technology of content routing for future research.
