In the1970s, the concept of Office Automation (OA) emerged; it was then introduced toChina and boomed in1990s. With system science-based and behavioral science-dominance,OA applied the varied computer machinery and software to digitally provide real-time andaccurate date for the business decision making, so as to improve efficiency, internalmanagement system and data integration.As the desktop computer and internet technology exploded, OA has become a popularterm among management in different professions, including the flourishing higher educationwhere the size and disciplines are growing and the workload and difficulties in schoolmanagement are increasing. It is significant to establish OA system to enhance effectivenessin higher education and realize the scientific e-management on campus.This paper is the administrative practice of the Guangdong Foreign Language VocationalCollege of Art from my service and service management demand, the custom processingworkflow according to the institution, to establish a system to provide for the institutions ofthe school administration, party and government office workers batch office document,document archiving, hospital faculty office operations the paperless office servicesinstitutions a variety of application review process flow on the network is complete. Thesystem via custom workflow, build a collaborative platform for the exchange, effective, andorderly, the allocation and management of scientific units within the people and things, toensure that the various departments of the school, as well as all related office personnel candeal with the day-to-day work on a desktop computer, the processing and transfer of work tocomplete the vast majority of documents on the network to replace the paper mediatransmission, computer network communication, improve the efficiency of collaborationbetween the various departments, to ensure that school leaders can easily receive timely allkinds of information and statistics, immediately aware of the progress of the work. Thesystem is applicable to all faculty members of the institution, the applicable personnel do notneed the computer’s hardware and software knowledge, as long as the will to use a browserand general web operation. This system was designed by the Browser/Software model, J2EE framework and Oracledatabase, and driven by JBPM framework. The full application of J2EE system has enhancedthe stability and expansibility of the system. The server that centrally operates programmesand database ensures its accessibility, practicability and maintenance.
