Design And Implementation Of The Campus Online Examination System Based On J2EE Framework

The popularity of information technology has brought new opportunities andchallenges to the traditional teaching and research. With the development of the schoolinformationization, all kinds of Campus Management Information Systems havebecome important infrastructures of the school, and been a key measure of the school’steaching and management. In order to conform to the network information age, as animportant part of basic education, every primary and secondary school has beengradually starting at the exploration and practice process of information management.As an important part of education, examination is also an element of the campusinformationization process. In this paper, some current situations of a secondary schoolare analyzed; besides, the software engineering principles are applied to designing andimplementing its campus online examination system. The article focuses on thediscussion of the domestic and international research background and practicalsignificance of the campus online examination system. Based on the author’sunderstandings, the technologies used in the design and implementations of the systemhave been expounded in details. And, combined with the teaching practice, this paperdoes a detailed research on the needs analysis of the project, and provides the over-allplanning system. On this basis, it presents systematic the outline design and detaileddesign. System implementation chapter describes the implementation process of thevarious functional modules and so on. Finally, design related test cases. It makes thefunctional testing of the system, and describes the trial as well as the test results. It alsoprospects the brilliant future of this system on the research and development direction.The campus online examination system is based on B/S architecture. J2EE is usedto implement the WEB server, and SQL SERVER2000is used for the back-enddatabase support; the Object-Relational Mapping technology andModel-View-Controller design pattern are also applied. The functional modules of thesystem include the user information management, test bank management, test papergeneration, examinations and results inquiry and so on. The system operates in thecampus networks, with friend interface, practical functionalities and simple structure. The candidates can flexibly take online examinations in the system. The results of thesystem functional testing and performance testing show that the original design goalshave been reached. Therefore, it can be applied to teaching practice in schools. Campusonline examination system can reduce the expenditure of human and material resourcesused for the examinations, enhance the security and fairness, and improve workefficiency. The system is suited for primary and secondary schools or small andmedium-sized training companies, especially for large-scale examinations or theself-learning situations, it can effectively be effective.
