In the past three decades, with the rapid development of computer graphics,computer animation has become a hot area of research. Physical cloth simulation is avery important part of computer animation. Cloth simulation in the design ofthree-dimensional garment simulation, virtual reality technology, games and television,and other areas has been widely used. Although the experience of decades ofdevelopment, real-time simulation of the fabric is still a challenging task in the currentgraphics field. Early simulation using the geometric method, the method is relativelysimple, and fast, but limited in scope, the analog quality is not very high, need to userintervention. Later, the physics-based cloth model occupies and important position inthe field. In the Physics-based model, the mass-spring model due to the calculation ofhigh efficiency, simulate the effect of high-fidelity, and the algorithm is easy to realize,has been widely used. Cloth simulation of this paper is the use of the model.This thesis first describes the development and potential applications of the clothsimulation technology, followed by analysis of the physical characteristics of the fabric,and compare the pros and cons of the geometry, physics, mixed methods for clothsimulation system modeling. Mass-spring model and stress analysis, after the stressanalysis, the article describes the several numerical method for cloth simulation, andcompared the performance of a variety of numerical method. Therefore, we use animproved Verlet-based cloth simulation method to figure cloth modeling and simulation.The project will depth study of the established distribution model based on Mass-springflexible body model, and the improved Verlet algorithm for cloth simulation.Finally, in order to have a real simulation results, we use the OpenGL graphicssoftware interface, light and texture mapping on the model, experimental results showthat real-time cloth, efficiency and stability and effectiveness of some advantage.
