Bus Navigator Based On Android

The development of smart phone makes mobile phone get rid of the previous status only as communication tool. Smart phone can satisfy customers’demands on entertainment, information or other aspects based with these functions such as satellite navigation with GPS, mobile phone camera, MP3and internet connected. The popularization of3G and Wi-Fi network is also an important driving factor for smart phone development, for which the speed of network directly affects the user’s experience.Travel is an integral part of daily life, and there are many ways to get information for travel, such as newspapers, TV and radio. With the popularity of smart phone, people can get travel information through it more convenient than other traditional ways.This paper studies the development background of bus navigation and makes a simple introduction to the most popular mobile phone operating system for now. Then, the paper makes a careful analysis on Android’s structure, characteristics and also the structure and work mechanism of Android application, and compares with other mobile phone operating systems, which show Android’s advantages in mobile phone operating system. Through these preparations, this paper develops a bus navigation application. We would gradually analyze and understand all parts of Android application like structure, composition, components. The main functions of this application design include positioning function, map browsing and bus navigation function.At the ending of paper, it realizes these functions specifically based on those designs and verifies by simulator.
