Wireless communication system for information network as a major means of personal access, is facing a huge market growth and brand new technology leap. Software Radio is developed based on digital radio. A large number of digital processing techniques and devices have been used in software radio. The design of Digital intermediate frequency module as a software radio technical difficulties, at the same time, it’s a hot research topic.Software radio will be modular, standardized, and universal hardware unit connected to the bus or exchange together to form a common platform, the platform is loaded by the modular, standardized, universal software, to achieve a variety of functions of wireless communication system. Software radio communication presents a new ideology, the use of software programmable, easy to modify, low cost and the advantages of short development period, to raise the level of wireless communication to anew level.Firstly, this paper study the digital intermediate modules, through digital signal processing on the theory of the key modules of the digital IF analysis and design, the use of FPGA to achieve a sample rate conversion function. In this paper, the work has done in the following aspects:1. In the full introduction of software radio, we detailed study the basic theory of digital signal processing and implementation.2. In a comprehensive analysis of the theoretical basis of the FPGA technology, and the premise of the design process, a detailed analysis of DSP with FPGA implementation is effective, but also has some advantages, so as to lay a FPGA based digital IF circuit.3. We use the FPGA device is Altera’s Cyclone IV series chip to complete the system design of the main modules, including raising and lowering of the data sampling rate, that is, two operations of decimation and interpolation, and then we analyzed the simulation results.In this paper, the method implemented FPGA software radio system in the digital down conversion module. In this paper, CIC+CFIR design architecture to fully reusable system resources, and the system is fully programmable etc, and it has good flexibility for system expansion and upgrades, and that the system has a strong competitive advantage in terms of price Therefore, to achieve the use of FPGA software radio system has a very important practical significance.
