The signal is an important carrier of the information transmission. However,some other signal components will be inevitably introduced during the process ofsignal generating, sending and transmitting. Therefore, it’s necessary to extract theuseful signal from the original signal with the interference signal before the signalprocessing, which is an important part almost all the science and technology fieldswill inevitably involve. And it is also the core of the filtering techniques.With the rapid development of the electronic information technology, thefrequency of the signal becomes higher while the amount of data contained in thesignal becomes larger, which both put forward higher demands on the real-timesignal processing capabilities of the filter. Because of the greater advantages thedigital filter has in the respects of system stability and processing precision, thedigital filter has been widely used in the field of speech processing, image processingand radar receivers, and so on.In view of the digital filter’s advantage and broad application prospects, thehardware implementation methods of the digital filter and the ways to improve thesystem performance and simplify the module structure are discussed in this thesis,based on the basic principles of digital signal processing and digital filteringtechniques. Also, a64-order bandpass FIR digital filter is presented in this thesis,which is designed in the window function method with the help of the software tools,such as Matlab and Modelsim, etc.The digital filter adopts the carry-lookahead/carry-select wide adder structureas well as the combination structure of the serial distributed multiply accumulatorand the parallel distributed multiply accumulator. Moreover, the digital filter has alinear phase frequency response characteristic and can extract the useful signalwhose frequency is about150MHz from the input signal.
