The globalization competition makes the circumstances of IT enterprise becomemore and more difficult situation. Facing the more and more complicated marketenvironment, the IT enterprise has to push the product-developing process forwardrationalization steadily under the huge production cost and short-time of design. Shortcycle, low cost, high efficiency and good quality are the pursuance of companies. Theprojects quantity increase, has brought the massive data file for the enterprise, alongwith the time passage, the enterprise to the original data resources repetition use request,to the product data and the work flow management technology demand, becomes moreand more urgent. Product data management (PDM) has been the important constituentfor Chinese manufacturing enterprise to implement the parallel projects andsynchronous manufacturing..This thesis is a pragmatic analysis based on the application of PDM in PCEBG BUof Foxconn Technology Group. It discusses the in-depth PDM design and realization, itincludes more as follows:1st. In the view of the existence question, through to the electronic enterprise’sactual situation and the product development characteristic analysis, has made thedemand analysis from the performance and the function demand to the PDM system.2nd. According to the actual needs of the system and design principles, the primaryobject model of the system is built up. The development and running environments ofthe system together with the characteristics of the system frame and the implementingmethod of the frame are explained to complete the general design of the system.3rd, several key technologies are interpreted in particular. Through usingobject-oriented design methodology，COM and UML technology, it realized with moreperfect function.4th, The system realizes PLM-centric management for project management, BOMand product configuration management, project change management and documentmanagement. The thesis introduces the function and structure for the modules in PDM.The last, the actual application example has proved that this PDM system isadapted to the development of electronic manufacturing enterprises. It has the goodusability.
