With the rapid development of information networking in recent years,themultimedia technologies applications plays a very important role in people’s life.Thetransmission and storage of the digital image plays an important part in it.Owing todigital image’s data is very large,so it cannot satisfy the request of the practicalapplication before effective compression.On this occasion,it inevitably becomes one ofthe most important directions in the field of communication and sigal processing to seekafter the effective image coding algorithm.The coding technologies of fractalcompression and wavelet transform are new image compression in recent years.Peoplepay more attention to the advantage of combining the two methods. A fast fractal imagecompression algorithm based on the lifting wavelet transform is proposed. It combinedthe good points from wavelet encoding and fractal encoding. Combined with thevisibility preaccentuation before the quantization, the algorithm uses the lifting schemeof Daubechies9/7,and codes the coefficient by SPIHT or improved-fractal encodingfor the different images. The experimental results show that the proposed method canreduce the encoding time,avoid the blocking effects,and get a better decoding image....
