With the development of new imaging sensors, computer technology and information processing technology, image fusion is utilized successfully in a broad variety of fields including military, remote sensing, automatic target recognition, machine vision, medical image processing, and etc. Image fusion is to get a more accurate, comprehensive and reliable image description of the same target through using the information of multiple images and by certain algorithm.A systematic introduction about the pretreatmentã€delamination and development of image fusion is present. Some traditional methods are researched and implemented, such as Simple Average, Laplacian Pyramid Transform and IHS Transform, analyzing their advantages and disadvantages.Multi-wavelet theoretics is researched in paper which is focusing in image fusion. Multi-wavelet is an extension form wavelet theory. Characters of multi-wavelet have the important influence in image fusion. After researching the theory and quality of multi-wavelet, two multi-wavelet construction methods are introduced in this paper. According to the pre-filter of multi-wavelet, three designed pre-filters of multi-wavelet are introduced. After expatiating multi-wavelet theoretics applying in image fusion, the paper combines with local character, implement local deviation, local energy and local gradient of multi-wavelet transform in image fusion.Experiments show local character, implement local deviationã€local energy and local gradient of multi-wavelet transform excelled traditional methods and wavelet transform in image fusion. |
