In recent years, as the availability of remote sensing image of varying resolution has increased. Merging images of different spatial resolution has become a significant operation in the filed of digital remote sensing. What the multi-source remotely-sensed image fusion technique study is how to use the image originating form different kinds of sensors synthetically, and achieve a new image with more precise, more abundant information through a certain algorithm.Firstly, this paper presented what is remote sensing image, the conception of remote sensing image fusion and the development situation in the national and international. Aiming at the problem which the original image will affect the quality of the fusing image so this paper gives the image pretreated processes such as: geometry emendation, remove noise and image registration. Secondly this paper deeply discusses several classical methods of pixel level as follows :Intensity-Hue-Saturation transform, principle component analysis transform,wavelet transform etc. This paper discuss the effects of the wavelet function and the decomposed level on remote fused image deeply.The research provides basis for choosing wavelet function and the decomposed level. Aiming at the disadvantage of wavelet trandform,the paper discussed the wavelet frame transform for multi-resource remote image fusion.This paper presented a new image fusion method based on IHS transform and wavelet frame transform.The method takes full advantages of the two methods and achives the best fusion results. The statistic parameter of the fusion image shows that the method can get more satisfactory result than using others. The research emphases of this paper are the image fusion methods based on wavelet transform and wavelet frame transform and the wavelet decomposition level. Finally, aiming at the research actuality of evaluation methods on performance, referring to interrelated reference, this paper summarize the present methods for evaluate the fused image.
