The Realization Of Switch Chip Based On RapidIO Protocol

The history of the switch fabric is briefly explained in this paper, and its function andmeaning in modern communication and digital signal process, analyzed the demand ofthe switch chip, the necessity and importance to develop self intellectual propertyswitch chip. The basic content about RapidIO protocol is explained, and it includesphysics layer, logic layer and transport layer according to the its structure, and theadvantage in data exchange. The design scheme, realization reason, root table handleand different package handle in exchange part of switch chip is explained detailed,mainly in logic layer and transport layer. At last, explained how to design the switchfabric from specification to circuit, including hardware description language designand design function simulation.
