Derived from TDMA techniques, MF-TDMA satellite communication system isone kind of new type VSAT networks. Multicarrier frequency hopping technique isinvolved, the system has the advantages of flexible networking, simplified networktopology, etc. MF-TDMA satellite communication system consists of hub earth station,remote earth station, and a network management system. Startup, running, management,maintenances of remote sites are achieved through network management center on thehub earth station.Research and development of domestic Ku band MF-TDMA satellitecommunication system is concerned, requirements of its network management andcontrol system are analyzed. Based on investigation of network management andcontrol mechanism of oversea MF-TDMA satellite communication system, thecorresponding solutions for features and special requirements of network managementand control of domestic MF-TDMA satellite communication are proposed. Proceduresof handover between main and backup, auto-distribution of parameters, management ofoperations in network system are described detailed. Network management system andMF-TDMA satellite communication system have been applied widely in multipleprojects, and their market prospect will be in full flourish.
