PLC is widely used in industry which makes the increasing development in industry automation level. Especially for recent years, the function of PLC is more diverse, networked and intelligent.Cement production process is physical and chemical reactions process. It has large inertia, pure hysteresis, non-linear characteristics and the system operating conditions complicated and volatile. This process has equipment chain and the detection signals are interrelated. Da Lian Onada cement company had updated its production line and we take the update of programmable logic controller system for emaple. The updated system is designed multilayer PLC control network, also redesigned the hardware and software of production control system. The system debugging is finished successfully. The system which is designed in this thesis has processed stably for three years.It is briefly introduced the production process demands of cement manufacturing industry and the cement production technical process in this thesis. Base on the process demands, it is summed up the demands of cement process control system. The multilayer control system architecture is integrated the PROFIBUS-DP network and industrial ethernet. Right communication is chosen between the workstations. The hardware and software design of cement production control system is finished in this thesis and the main process is illustrated in detail. At last it is illustrated the debugging of the control sytem.
