In the collations of the published Dunhuang documents concerning Sheyi, the number of Zhuantie is the largest. As the original records of the affairs in Sheyi, Zhuantie offered many valuable first-hand historical data for our research on Sheyi. However, most of these Zhuantie hasn’t exact year. In the254documents researched in this paper, which included all Zhuantie in three collations of the published She-related Dunhuang documents, only six documents has a certain year, while others can be dated only after further research.After the efforts of predecessors, most Zhuantie dated exactly or approximately. In these dating conclusion, some are supported by sufficient evidence, and some, only guess.In this paper,87Zhuantie’s date have been researched again,55Zhuantie’s dating conclusion are confirmed and32Zhuantie’s are modified.On this basis, the paper examines the four ways of dating in Zhuantie, and focus on the era range in which the dating way used Chinese sexigenary cycle(干支) appeared. The study found that this dating way is mainly used after AD920.Further analysis found that the reason of this characteristics is mainly the Dunhuang rulers and the Central dynasty changed too frequently during AD786to the late10th century.Finally, this paper determined or narrow the range of the date of15Zhuantie by using the conclusion.
