To accelerate agricultural informatization has become an important strategy in China’s economic and social development. However, two major obstacles still remain in the process of China’s rural informatization development:1)"the last one-kilometer" information transmission and2) failure in sharing and sustainable use of information of’agriculture, countryside and farmer’. Therefore, one urgent topic to solve the problem in rural informatization is that how to dynamically integrate those isolated, closed and important information scattered in different regions to establish a comprehensive cross-regional, cross-departmental information service platform, with an aim of information resources sharing and sustainable use and providing farmers direct agricultural information services.This thesis firstly describes the background and development of China’s rural informatization and on the basis of analyzing the current application of rural information systems, it points out several urgent problems to be solved. With regard to the problems raised above, this thesis focused on the study of design and realization of the rural comprehensive information service platform based on SO A and P2P technologies. Within this platform, the SOA framework can dynamically integrate current agricultural information systems in different regions and departments; the P2P technology can handle data transmission between the comprehensive platform and its subsystems and between the comprehensive platform and its terminals; and the terminal machines of "Farmers’Click-through" can settle the "the last one-kilometer" information transmission problem. Thus, this platform will provide a practical solution to the information system for China’s’agriculture, countryside and farmer’The main work and contributions of this thesis are as follows:1. Introduce the background, development and related domestic researches of China’s rural informatization, and points out several urgent problems to be solved; 2. Design the technology framework of rural comprehensive information service platform based on SOA and P2P technologies for the purpose of rural information resources integration and information services;3. Describe the overall design scheme of rural comprehensive information service platform, including key systemic technologies, SOA, Web service, XML, P2P technologies and J2EE framework which support functioning of several important modules in the platform;4. Summarize systematic features of the rural comprehensive information service platform, and give a prospect of this platform based on SOA and P2P technologies.
