Machine vision technology as its fast speed, large amount of information, can beautomated, multifunction features are widely used in various fields. Visual inspection insteadof the human eye to complete production line product testing, it can greatly reduce testingcosts, improve measurement speed and efficiency, is a research hot spot in recent years thefield of industrial inspection. In accordance with the requirements of a project, a cylindricalpart trapezoidal groove and small through-hole size is difficult to measure by conventionalmethods, innovative use of machine vision technology to achieve automatic measurement ofpart size detection, the paper mainly studies the following:This article is based on a project: automated detection of multiple dimensions of thecylindrical parts, the use of machine vision systems to achieve the testing requirements.Firstly the design according to the detected content of the overall structure of the entiresystem, for each hardware part carried out a select and complete the hardware part of thestructures, including the imaging head, a light source such as the choice for selection of thehardware part, the design of the lighting system through comparison of different lightingsolutions lighting solutions chosen for the system; visual inspection system based onLabVIEW software development platform, image processing is the use IMAQ Vision visionkit complete. Key technology for detecting contents of this article, the research and analysisof image processing, through theoretical analysis and experimental verification, the imageprocessing suitable for the size of the groove width of the circular hole area: image acquisitionafter the first filter processing is performed on the photographed image, a single thresholdsegmentation, mathematical morphology operation and edge detection to obtain a clear imageedge, and finally get the image corresponding bounding rectangle to indirectly measure theparts trapezoid groove width size the arc fitting operation to achieve an area of two holemeasurement of the size of the eventual adoption of the modular design concept to develop a system to facilitate human visual inspection system interface. Stability and measurementaccuracy and measurement system for performance analysis verified the completion of thecalibration of the system.This visual inspection system for part overall dimensions of modern automatedmeasurement equipment, simple structure, low cost, high efficiency, flexible measurement issubstantially independent of the size of the part, high accuracy, suitable for high-volumemeasurement detection process solve the low detection efficiency caused by manualinspection, the accuracy is not high, not real-time online measurement shortcomings, verybroad application prospects.
