With China’s sustained and rapid development of traffic demand, a significant upgrade,transport and social economic life of the increasingly, apparently inevitable enormous pressure on urban public transport is an important part of national life. Although in recent years, investment in urban transport development is adequate of human and material resources, but the traffic jams, low efficiency of travel, frequent traffic accidents and other problems still need to be improved. With the development of electronic technology, computer technology, communications technology, automatic control technology, the Intelligent Transportation has gradually become an effective way to resolve the traffic problems.In this paper, the concept of the Internet things is combined with intelligent transportation. The Internet of Things technology is accordanced with the agreed protocol, all the items through radio frequency identification and other information sensing device connected to the Internet up to achieve intelligent identification and management, communication and data exchange to achieve a collection of real social and information systems. Intelligent transportation system is precisely the combination of the concept of Internet of Things, a smart traffic system for the current traffic problems:from the overall system architecture,form a complete set of intelligent management system in order to improve the urban transport serve level and the overall level of information, reduce administrative costs, ease congestion, improve the quality of transport services, to strengthen the real-time monitoring, to provide convenient and efficient service for the general public.Combined with ARM embedded development technology, RFID technology, GPRS and other wireless communications technology, from hardware and software on-board terminal block design, hardware design of the master module, RFID module, GPRS module; software, the main erection of the cross-development environment porting embedded Linux operating system, application of the module design. In order to verify the vehicle terminal model of the capabilities of intelligent transportation systems.Concludes this article, and look ahead to future work.
