With the rapid development of embedded technology and video technology, video monitoringsystem has been widely applied in various fields. At present, the single stream video monitoringsystem can’t satisfy the application requirements because of its inherent disadvantages of notensuring bath the image quality and video quality at the same time. Dual-stream technologybecomes the necessary technology of video monitoring system. Therefore, it has practical value toresearch the embedded system video transport technology based on dual-stream.According to the main module of the dual-stream video transport in embedded system, thisthesis focuses on the research of camera interface, video capture, video coding, video transport andother related technologies, puts forward a general method to realize d ual-stream video transport,and designs and implements a multi-resolution dual-stream network video transport prototype. Inorder to improve the real-time performance of embedded network video transport in embeddedsystem, this thesis compares the features of inter-process communication under Linux and analyzesthe coupling and communication requirements of the modules of network video transport. Amechanism of inter-process communication is proposed according to the coupling andcommunication requirements between modules, which is suitable for network video transport.This thesis also carried out a function test and performance test of multi-resolution dual-streamnetwork video transport prototype. Test results show that the prototype can provide two kinds ofvideo streams, each video stream can provide many kinds of resolution to meet the needs of demand;the prototype can effectively balance image quality and video quality, and its performanceparameters including video delay within acceptable range.
