Video monitoring technology is a synthesis technology composed of computertechnology, network technology and multimedia technology, which is applied abroadin industry, traffic, electric power and intelligent office building etc.The paper brings forward and designs a embedded network video monitoringsystem, which hardware platform uses S3C4510B processor based on ARM7TDMIcore of Samsung company. ARM processor has good characters of high speed, lowpower, high quality, low cost and 16/32 bit double instruction set. Network videomonitoring system reflects characters of monitored objects momentarily, visually andactually and is the important technology means of modernization management andmonitoring. Now embedded network video monitoring system has characters of smallsize, low cost, high stability and good real-time.The system chooses embedded uClinux operation system which opens sourcecode. uClinux is designed for no MMU and supports multi-task. It has completeTCP/IP protocol stack and supports a lot of network protocols and file systems.uClinux has very strong migration, the user can migrate conveniently to Dragon Ball,Power PC,ARM processor platform by reconfiguring and compiling core. Video DataCompressed standard chooses MPEG-4, which adapts multimedia monitoring, contentconserving and searches. The system also chooses real-time transport protocol torealize network transport of MPEG-4 video data.Firstly the paper discusses the development, present status and research meaningof network video monitoring system and embedded technology and expoundsimportance of the paper;secondly, the paper introduces ARM processor and uClinuxoperation system;thirdly, it analyses the difficulty of uClinux operation systemmigrating and describes core compiling and startup of uClinux;fourthly, Itdescribes particularly chip choosing of system and designing of hardware schematicdiagram and PCB diagram;lastly, the paper studies network packed and transport ofmpeg-4 video data based on RTP, and realizes function described above by modifyingcorrelated software lib of liveMedia project.
