Rice wine is a unique wine kind of Nutrition and health in China. This paper integrated near-infrared spectroscopy techniques, software development techniques and instrumental analysis techniques, developed a portable instrument for detection of the quality indicators of the rice wine based on ARM11hardware platform.The main achievements were listed below:(1) Constructed the hardware and software environment of the portable instrument based on ARM11, including the spectral data acquisition module, data processing module, communication control module, and embedded software development environment of Windows CE and Platform Builder.(2) Developed the USB4000control module based on serial communication. As the manufacture of USB4000didn’t provide drivers for the ARM platform, using serial communication mode, achieved the goal of configuring and changing the spectrometer hardware trigger mode, the integration time, the average scan times, the communication baud rate, and so on.(3) Achieved the spectra aquistion of rice wine using the portable instrument based on ARM11. By importing the mathematical model into our embedded software, the system could detect the quality indicator of rice wine and display it on the screen.(4) Developed graphic interface controlled by touch screen, which could display the spectra data curve of sampled rice wine, and output forecast indicators in real time.
