With the rapid development of communication technology and the spreading of3Gnetwork, the amount of data and multimedia services is becoming larger and larger.what’smore,most of high speed data and multimedia services are indoor,which challenge thecoverage, capacity and architecture in the actual deployment of3G.As an extension of mobilecommunication network, Femto provides a very effective scheme to combine the fixed andmobile communication networks,which is developed in order to solve the indoor coverageand indoor high-speed business.However, in the actual deployment of Femto, there still aresome problems.In this paper,a solution is presented to solve two problems which are the highcost caused by dispersive sites and the frequent handover between the macro network and theFemto in the application of Femto,that is virtual gateway and the application of MSC POOLtechnology.Virtual gateway is a technology which divdides a physical Femto gatewayequipment into several virtual logical gateways.Those virtual ones are responsible for Femtoservices in different areas respectively.The Application of the technology of MSC POOLmakes the mobile subscribes avoid frequent handover when they are roaming in the servicingarea of POOL, even if they are between different LACs,they are in the service of thebelonging MSC all the time,avoid inter-handover. As a result,it alleviates the burden of C/Dinterface.The testing results of the virtual gateway and MSC POOL method are given in theend of the paper.As is shown in the results that the virtual gateway can route the services torespective core network when multiple areas Femto base stations are connected to it,whichproves that the virtual gateway possesses the function of controlling the access of multi-localnetwork.After the upgrade of the Femto Gateway to support the POOL,it now can assign theusers to the MSCs equably.The handover is intra-handover even if the subscriber’s locationarea is changed,which reduces the signaling overhead of the system.
