Data center is an important part of enterprise informatization. There are manyproblems in the traditional operation mode of data center, such as inflexible resourceallocation and management, low resource utilization and inadequate quality of service.As a basis of cloud computing, virtualization provides support for the resourcevirtualization, flexible allocation and management. When virtualization is applied toresource pool management of data center there are some key issues, like rationalallocation of virtual machines, well system management and dynamic load balance ofservers.With an application need of a real data center as the background, the way cloudcomputing mode being applied to the construction, operation and maintenance of datacenter is research in this paper. Server virtualization in data center is implemented withvirtualization technologies. Resources, in the form of virtual machines, are allocated todifferent applications and dynamically scheduled according to application needs.Ultimately load balancing between servers is achieved. This paper is mainly committedto the following work:①Data center based on cloud computing mode is researched. System architectureof data center based on IaaS model is discussed in this paper. Virtualized managementenables users to control all the applications of operating systems, storage space anddeployment without managing or controlling any IT infrastructure. Throughvirtualization technology, physical servers are logically divided into several virtualmachines, and all virtual machines are managed by a unified management interface.Then each virtual machine can be dynamically scheduled and flexibly managedaccording to users’ needs.②To tackle with the load balancing problem between servers, an adaptive loadbalancing strategy for the virtual machine pool is proposed in this paper. When theserver load exceeds the specified threshold value, a virtual machine on the heavilyloaded server is migrated to a lightly loaded server.③A management system of virtual machines pool based on cloud computing isdesigned. The architecture of data center based on IaaS mode is proposed in this paper,which includes the design of cloud controller, performance monitoring, system interfaceand virtual machine management. ④A management system of virtual machines pool based on cloud computing isimplemented. Using libvirt, an open source virtualization management interface, thesystem above is implemented.
