Present Status And Development Perspective Of Mobile TV Under Three-network Convergence

The Development of Telecommunication network, Internet, and cable television networkplays a very important role in promoting the development of the communications industryand the media industry. Various countries in the world value the process of triple play andstrongly support the rapid development of it. Following the SMS, MMS, and mobile Internet,mobile TV has now become the core of the mobile media applications, known as "killer" ofthe3G era. Meanwhile, the mobile TV has also become a typical business and the best entrypoint of the triple play. Under the powerful promotion of government’s relevant policies, thetriple play will surely bring new opportunities for the development of mobile TV.This paper first begins with the first chapter introducing the concept of triple play, thebackground knowledge of its formation, as well as the relevant policies on the triple play andbuilding TV, mobile TV, Internet TV and other new media business which are on the basis ofthe presentation of the triple play. Chapter II analyzes the development of mobile TV in SouthKorea, Europe, the United States and China, as well as the developing process of China’smobile TV. Chapter III analyzes the main problem of the development of mobile TV in China.The relevant mobile TV technology, industrial chain, and operational mode are discussed inthis chapter. It put forward the ideal mode of the operation of mobile TV, which is to establishspecialized mobile TV station based on the cooperation of telecommunications and thebroadcasting industry; In Chapter IV it discusses the reality of China’s triple play and makesfurther prospects for the development of China’s mobile TV. It comes to the conclusion thatpeople will carry the huge network space brought by the triple play. If the triple play isachieved, the tripartite operation of the various sectors will be more rapid and more efficient.The cooperation of telecommunications networks and broadcasting industries will be themainstream of development of mobile TV services in the future.
