Train TV, emerging in the multimedia era as a kind of new outdoor video display media, has presented its media characteristics as well as great values due to its unique properties. As a result of the media operators' involvement in the train TV media market, numbers of adjustments have been made in its market and industry structure and in the meantime, the process of its marketization and industrialization has been speeded up. However, due to a combination of limiting factors such as the positon, industry conditions, policies, and other internal and external factors, train TV is faced with great challenges during its development process. Compared with other similar new medias, its current status quo seems to have shown a lack of stamina and competitiveness. This thesis is intended to make an exposition with regard to the developing process of the train TV on a methodical and systematic basis, thereby some solutions could be put forward as well so to help with its further development.This thesis mainly consisted of six parts. Chapter one introduced the concept and attributes of train TV. The second chapter demonstrated its characteristics in several aspects. The following two chapters discoursed the developing process and current status quo respectively, especially the challenges it's faced with. Correspondingly, specific solutions and recommendations could be found in Chapter five. And on the basis of the previous exposition, the last chapter finally focused on the future prospects of the object.
