With the wide application of3D CAD software (such as Pro/E, CATIA, UG, Solidworks), the design technology have already become mainstream in3D CAD as arepresentative. Change of design method, certainly will request process means that alsofollow to change. How do the process technology go to design based on3D CAD,especially the intelligence process design has already become that urgent needs to besolved one of the problems by a lot of enterprise.First of all, this article is based on the using of XTCAPP system, according to thecustom of the process template, the CAPP system developed by this paper that can inputvarious parameters, and with many kinds of mechanical processing process database,Such as tools database, measure database, equipment database, main/auxiliary materialsdatabase and so on. That makes process in formation process as intelligence, automation,programming, reduces repeating input for the user in handwork.Second, it analyzes all kinds of information of mutual connection in the partsdesign and in the process of manufacture, bases on the principle of parameterizedmodeling method. Using the second development of Pro/TOOLKIT technology of3DCAD software(Pro/E) and object-oriented method establishes parts information modelbased on parameterization. Not only provides parts information for CAPP system, butalso provides the technical support for development of design in manufacturing system.Once more, in the research of the intelligent process design, secondarydevelopment to XTCAPP system, using the expert system ESDK, the person in processdesign input the basic information of the blank (blank shape, blank material), the basicinformation of parts (basic size, structure characteristics, etc.), the main designparameters, choose method of processing and so on, obtain process route throughreasoning the process knowledge. When choosing different processing characteristicsand the processing methods, the system will automatically output different processingline.Last, the system will generate the process documents for formulating into processpictures, submit to platform (Windchill) for process evaluation, complete process documents print output. The content of this research reflect enterprise reality demand,the development of3D CAPP system is easy to operate and have the high applicationvalue.
