In recent years, the new stations with the frequency hopping technology, data network technology and communication technology have been produced. With strong function of new equipments, high integration and more tactical index, so it puts forward higher requirements for suppliers and inspection period. The traditional manual test methods have many human errors, slow operation speed and low records accuracy. The development and application of automatic test system not only can improve the working efficiency, reduce the error rate, but also realize real-time saving, save testing cost, do some comparative analysis according to testing data to guide production.Based on recent new equipment, we will develop corresponding automatic test system. This system can test required function and performance index, test whether the performance of tested devices can meet the technical requirements, produce results and mark out and store the unqualified ones into the database to make the testing data with traceability and also analyze these data. The key technology of this study is to apply GPIB (General Purpose Interface Bus) to connect and control several programmable instruments by interface bus, build automatic test systems, and realize the stability off data transmission. The hardware of the system adopts a stacking independent platform, makes standard cabinets and combines with the plug unit structure. We divide the object into6subrack units according to their functions:industrial control machine unit, comprehensive test instrument unit, spectrum analyzer unit, signal source unit, special test fixture unit and power source unit. Every unit is fixed on the standard cabinet post in subrack and clamp structures which makes it simple to replace the instruments, speedy to introduce the new equipment configurations and convenient to maintenance and expansion. The paper introduced this subject’s background, significance and research status, demand analysis and overall design, system software implementation, system hardware implementation, interface design and system implementation, system integration testing, data processing and analysis, summary and prospect through seven parts. It described the selection and implementation of the technical scheme in detail and achieved the coinstantaneous movement of theoretical research and practical application. The automatic test system has a better development prospect and practical value.
