During construction of enterprise information system, the different management systems will be supplied to different departments for application according to their own requirements and characteristics. They can cooperate with each other and share information among them. According to certain model, PLM system can effectively define, organize and manage correlated data at each phase of the whole lifecycle(from project establishment, design, simulation, arts and crafts, test, manufacture, delivery to discard as useless) to make product data be consistent, shared and safe. PLM system can make these data connect in series through using the project plan and management to achieve product technical status management, and establish a paralleled cooperative working environment for production design in enterprise, so it will play an important role in some matters, such as development of enterprise, research and development of product, decision-making, etc.This thesis studies the general-purpose CAD tools based on whole lifecycle management system of products. To analyze requirements of a kind and feature requirements according to requirements comparison; conduct system design based on these requirements; perform flow management and node analysis in accordance with different application scenario; realize the application on the platform. Introduce CAD terminal, PDM system terminal and information transmission procedure. Describe the commonality in each procedure, discuss the design procedure and test the results. The core of this integration mode is to use the general-purpose program extension template to realize the data transmission among different tools and systems. Tool kit is used to realize the special application. Design tools manage the application procedure they are good at, perform data transmission via integrated interface.Test results achieved in different design tools shows that this interface has better commonality, and this interface can be used for rapid re-development, meet work request, attain enterprise’s purpose, reduce the information island and improve enterprise information capability. Based on this development experience, we summarize and look forward to development trend of future general-purpose interface, and forecast research direction in the future.
