With the rapid development of information technology based Electronic business, merchandises and product elements are moving freely worldwide. Besides, multi-national, multi-regional and multi-industrial logistics activities appeared more and more frequentily. Those activities have made a great effort on on facilitate economic development. Electronic business has massive impact on modern logistics industry. Logistics informatization became the key issue and many logistics technology appeared. At present, a Public Logistics Information Platform is become the focus technology. More and More governments, enterprises and person starting to pay their attention on establish various Public Logistics Information Platforms.As we know, information flow is the most important issue during logistics processes.Quick logistics information transaction between enterprises can directly result rapid products and goods movement. However, traditional logistics processes have been proved inefficient and trivial on collecting, distributing, sorting, storing and outputting information. Thus, building a Public Logistics Information Platform can facilitate the development of logistics industry.Before I design this platform, I have researched many successful commercial logistics websites and looked up many related materials. After this, I summed up the drawbacks from exist platform and come out my owe ideas and options of the logistics information platform development in the future. The platform I designed is based on Object-Oriented framework and ASP technology, which used Microsoft SQL Server2005as back-end database system and Dreamweaver MX as development tools. By using the technologies I mentioned above, I have developed an entire Public Logistics Information Platform based on Browser/Server structure. The system has two parts, which are front-end interface system and the back-end management system. Front-end interface system is running under customer’s side, which can perform the tasks such as customer register and login, classification information search, and post the newest information for goods, vehicles and enterprise. The back-end management system can perform the tasks of user administration and system update.The purpose of design this system is taking the advantages of internet and web-based database integration, implementing the maximum measure of software and system resources reuse, abstracting the most valuable information which can easily matching the industry requirements, providing logistics information and fuction share between enterprises and customers, and finally promote the management level and the efficiency of the enterprises.
