Li and representative square hole" Changchun real pilgrimage to the West" is a recorded in the13th century Mongolian Plateau and the Central Asian history and geography of one of the most important book, is a highly significant work recording the history and geography of Mongolian plateau and Central Asia. It is the first Chinese travel record narrating the author and Qiu Chang Chun’s personal adventures traveling throughout Mongolian plateau. Furthermore, it is the first record of what one sees and hears.in the field, describing the broad expanse of land from Eastern Tianshan Mountains to the River Area. In terms of its value, it is equal to Great Tang Records on the Western Regions written by Xuanzang. Travels to the West of Qiu Chang Chun has about19thousand words, containing two volumes and one appendix. It records Qiu’s journey to the west, which ends in Yanjing, as well as Qiu’s poetry, talk and communication with his disciples and outside world. Genghis Khan’s edict to Qiu, the official documents of Yanjing government to invite Qiu to reside in Taiji Gong and the name list of Qiu’s eighteen companions and Mogolian guards have been attached to the end of the volume. Preface written by Sun Xi of Xixi in1228, which might be published during the late Jin Dynasty and the early Yuan Dynasty, has been attached to the beginning of the volume. It is written on the cover that "Stated by Li Zhichang, a disciple of Qiu". The book, as important historical material used to study the history of early Yuan Dynasty, has gained worldwide attention.The thesis, from the philological perspective, explores genres, content and edition of the book with the importance attached to its historical value. The historical value of the book is mainly reflected in its preciousness and diversity. Posterity’s study on the book also reflects its high historical value.
