College libraries are places filled with a sea of information, different data sources and a large number of readers. It is really tough to manage these complicated and numerous numbers. Therefore, the traditional way of management and service mode cannot meet the increasing information requirements of the readers. Choosing the library of Dehong Normal College as its research context, this thesis states the significance, the present research and application of this project, and demonstrates the research content and main assignments. Based on its regular library management process, this thesis probes into the management system’s demands and functions, notes the existing problems of the system and clarifies the purpose and significance of this thesis. In the business analysis, after analyzing the system’s existing problems, organization, and its original operation flow, this thesis brings up a new operation flow of book information management, reader management, library management, information system management. In functional analysis, with example and packet diagram, this thesis clarifies the function of the system, noting the function of the overall system architecture and the function of each module structure,in which the subfunctions of the library management are purchasing management and catalogue management, and the subfunctins of borrowing and returning management are reader’s inquiry, reservation and renewal management. Furthermore, the subfunctions of system management are authority management, log management and data maintenance. In data analysis, the data related to each function of the system is analyzed, an Entity Relationship Diagram is charted, and a database table structure is established.
