Since the21st century, with the continuous progress of science and technology, the continuous development of socio-economic, scientific, standardized and efficient personnel management has become an important component of management systems in many enterprises and organizations. Modern personnel appraisal system has changed from manual record, signed cards record, mechanical punch record to the information, intelligence and humanity of the scientific appraisal style. Novel computer-based appraisal systems with images, which make use of the RFID card reading techniques, is the direction of future development.In this thesis, a card reading system is designed and implemented based on GPRS and visual RFID technology, which includes an embedded terminal device and an application management software. The embedded terminal device uses an AT89s52MCU as a central controller, a32kB RAM outside and4serial ports are expanded. The system uses the EM4095RF module to read the ID card then uses the MCU to decode and output the ID. An industrial image acquisiting and processing equipment is used, whic can collect images after it receives the corresponding control commands. The image data and the ID can be transmitted to the server through the GPRS module. With the design of the MCU-based embedded USB memory, the data can also be saved in a USB disk. The application management software is developed with Visual C++6.0, which realized serial communication, socket network communication, Access database management and JPEG image display.In this thesis, we introduce the full details of GPRS-based RFID card reading System hardware terminal development and its implementation process, and the design and development process of underlying hardware, control software, debugging software, PC management software. The system is stable, fully functional, simple, and easy to use, with an interactive and friendly interface.
