With the great development of Internet,it is possible that remote control can beimplemented by Internet. At the same time, the system greatly prolongs the distance ofremote control,Therefore,in recent years the technology of robot remote control basedon Internet has been a popular field all over me world. In this paper, a remote control system for mechanical arm based on internet isdesigned and implemented, and by using video monitoring system, the remote controlsystem realized the long-distance monitoring. The main function of the system ismaking the mechanical arm to go down the path set by user. After analyzing the system,Visual C++6.0is chosen to set up the remote video monitoring system based on theGRB400four-DOF mechanical arm.In this paper, discussed the essential technologies emphatically in thenetwork-based remote video monitoring, including video compression, networkcommunication, streaming media and multi-threading.We put forward a design of thenetwork-based remote video monitoring system which is programmed by the WinSockand based on C/S(Client/Server)pattern and UDP protocol, and adopt the MPEG-4video compression algorithm which is mature and easy to encoded, and realizedtransmission of real-time video streaming in the IP Multicast Network based on thestreaming media technology of RTP/RTCP protocol. The article is divided into three parts. Firstly, this paper introduced the systemhardware system, and discussed the essential technologies in the network-based remotevideo monitoring. Secondly, introduced the remote control process, monitored the tailof the mechanical arm to make it go down the path set by user, and realized videomonitoring function. Finally, on the basis of exiting analysis, this paper brought upsome suggestions for the promotion of the security and instantaneity.
