As a new type of digital wideband receivers, the monobit digital receiver has theadvantages of simple structure and high speed. Performance of Frequency measurementand directions estimation is discussed by much simulation data in this paper.Firstly, the basic principle of the monobit digital receiver is introduced, includingits source and structure. Then, compared with traditional DFT receiver, the influence ofperformance of frequency measurement on different quantization precision, noise, FFTpoints is analyzed. What is more, a compensation technique to improve instantaneousdynamic range is discussed. Various modulation singals are identified by the method ofTime-Frequency curve fitting. Secondly, the principle of directions estimation based onfrequency domain multiple beams technique is discussed while the algorithm ofdirections estimation for monobit digital receiver is given. Then the influence of theperformance of directions estimation on different quantization precision, noise andsparse array is analyzed as well. Finally, through building simulation model, the resultthat the monobit digital receiver has the good performance of frequency measurementand directions estimation is proved.
