The methods of SGA (Simple Genetic Algorithm), RGA (Real-code GeneticAlgorithm), CDE (Classic Differential Evolution) and DDE (Dynamic DifferentialEvolution) are studied. The printed sleeve dipole is used as the element of thecylindrical conformal array antennas to put into simulation. Combining the theoreticalanalysis, the method of DDE is used to optimize and synthesize some kinds of scanningand beam-forming patterns. The main work is as follows,Firstly, theoretical analysis of array antenna is processed. The characters and thescanning principle of the linear array are analyzed. The scanning theory and some otherfeatures of the conformal array antenna are also presented.Secondly, GA and its implementation methods are studied. A RGA is achieved tooptimize the array antennas. Its results are compared to the ones in the literatures, andits validity is proved. The method of DE is studied, and its modified method, which isDDE, is applied to the optimization of the array antennas effectively. Through the testsof some standard functions and real examples, it is found that the DDE methodperforms better in the result and stability.Thirdly, the printed sleeve dipole element cylindrical conformal array antennasmodel is created, and the simulation test is processed. The simulated amplitude patternand the phase pattern extracted. The DDE method is to optimize and synthesize kinds ofscanning and beam-forming pattern. The optimized results are compared with thesimulated ones. It is proved that the optimization algorithm is correct and useful.Finally, some laws of optimizing conformal array antennas is achieved. Theconclusions are summed up, and some problems which need to be improved are pointedout.
