The symmetric linear thinned arrays and the conformal arrays are been popularly focused and widely been researched in recent years in communication,radar,navigation, control and guide,etc.due to their good systematic performance.The research work of this dissertation has two aspects:the first is to study the best distribution law of the symmetric linear thinned arrays on the standard of the smallest the highest side lobe level(viz.PSLL) in the entire visible region;the second is to study the conformal arrays' PSLL,analyze every element's influence to the direction pattern (mainly focus on PSLL) and summarize the characteristics and the laws of every element's effect.Through this way,a valuable technical reference is provided for the practical design of the conformal arrays.This dissertation include such aspects as followed.Firstly,the mathematic model is established and on this base the specific direction pattern function of the symmetric linear thinned arrays and the conformal arrays is induced by vector's method.Secondly,the basic concepts,traits and operating principle of genetic algorithm is introduced.A program is developed.The application of genetic algorithms in antenna synthesis is been studied.Thirdly,for how to minimize the highest side lobe level(viz.PSLL),the law of unites' distribution of the symmetric linear thinned arrays is deeply and thoroughly been studied.The studied subject is the result of distribution for the symmetric linear thinned arrays.The units' amount of the symmetric linear thinned arrays as the studied subject is from 19 to 903,the sparse rate is from 50 percent to 90 percent.In the process of the distribution of the symmetric linear thinned arrays,because the highest lobe level(viz.PSLL) is nonlinear function of units' position,the exhaustive attack method and genetic algorithm is been adopted.By the analysis of distribution result,some distribution law of the best symmetric linear thinned arrays is summarized.The relationship of the element's amount in the center,the unit's amount and the sparse rat is been quantitatively analyzed and at the same time the correctness of this conclusion is been tested.At last,the highest side lobe level(viz.PSLL) of the conformal arrays is bean studied,The influence that sorts of elements affect the highest lobe level(viz.PSLL) is been analyzed,the laws and the characteristics of every element's effect are summarized. A valuable technical reference is provided for the practical design of the conformal arrays.
