The development of network computer technology makes the readers in libraries have the higher requirements for the accuracy and timeliness and personalization. The library workers must upgrade themselves service quality through the network. It is the need of the times providing better services for readers and providing the platform access to information for library workers. Data mining technology provides technical support in the organization and management of digital resources and improvement of service quality and expansion of service mode, as well as it has shown great vitality. In this paper, it has researched data mining techniques applying in library management, and it put forward design pattern using association rule mining to search the reader borrowing patterns, and researched association rules deeply, and analyzed classical Apriori algorithm for association rules, and improved Apriori algorithm, and used a new and improved association rule for mining algorithms to improve the efficiency of the algorithm. The improved algorithm started to mine a part of business data of sub-part of the book circulation, and used J2EE+SQL server to design and imply the data mining system. The practical results show the system can recommend the books that readers need through the analysis of the data about readers’borrowing data. As a result to enhance the satisfaction of readers for library work; it has play a guiding role for the library purchases and the library collection construction the optimization digging of collections.Data mining of the system is limited for paper documents and is not well to dig loan data of digital libraries, which is the next step to solve the problem.
