Application Of Data Mining In College Student Management Systems

With the extensive application of information technology, the various managementinformation systems of universities have accumulated a large number of data, and many ofthese data just remain in the uses of simple query and statistical reports, and not make use ofthese data effectively to offer effective decision support for the management of the collegestudents.It can make full use of these data by using data mining technology in the work ofteaching and management, and can improve the quality of teaching.Association rule is an indispensable means used in the research of data mining,it aims todiscover the connection or the correlation midst a set of objects in a database. The paperstudies some data mining techniques based on association rule,and analyze the advantage anddisadvantage of Apriori algorithm of conventional association rules are analyzed. With theanalysis of Apriori algorithm,Apriori algorithm was improved based on address mapping,wecall it Apriori-mapping algorithm.This algorithm adopts the mode of horizontal storagetransaction,and establishes the list of candidate items transaction identifiers and the length ofthe list of candidate items transaction.It greatly shorten the computing time of pruningoperation by classic Apriori algorithm and improve the efficiency of the system.It has beverified by experiment,and be applied to the university’s student management systemultimately.In this paper,setting examples of score subsystem and employment subsystem,from datacollection, pre-treatment to the use of improved algorithm in data mining, we digged out therelationship between the courses and courses, courses and employment in strict accordancewith the process of data mining,and show them in the front of the teachers, students, teachingmanagement staff,and provide humanization services for different population.The design of the students management system has been developed and has passed thestrict software testing.During the trial operation,it achieved certain effects and realized thefunction of reforming the courses, guiding students,assisting management and other aspects ofthe work.Improved algorithm that has been applied to system also increases the systemefficiency.
